Dagoretti Corner Street Children Programme * is a Christian run charity, dedicated to the prevention and alleviation of poverty and the promotion of education amongst children and young people in Kenya, specifically (but not exclusively) those in Dagoretti Corner. Dagoretti Corner is a shanty town in the outskirts of Nairobi in Kenya, this is an incredibly deprived area where only one person in forty has any employment, there is a high death rate from Malaria /AIDS/HIV related illnesses and thousands of children are orphaned and live on the streets The charity’s vision includes assisting with projects already set up in the area. The charity currently owns a plot of land in Dagoretti Corner, and is working with the local people and other charities working in the area to decide how best to use this land.
